My husband put a new plant identification app on his phone and when we were traveling cross country this past Spring we stopped so I could take photos,, and paint and he would walk around figuring out which plants were in bloom. The bright cadmium orange/pink/red cactus roses were in full bloom and I couldn't resist taking a reference photo of him taking a reference photo. I painted this in oils in studio.
