I914 Indy Race Car Dashboard

The medium is watercolor. My inspiration comes from my love of antique and classic vehicles. They truly are works of art in their own right. I've always been intrigued by not only the exterior of the vehicle, but also the interior, specifically the dashboard with all its knobs and gauges. I went to an exhibit of Indy race cars a few years ago and I saw this car with its open cockpit and all the interesting brass gauges mounted on the wooden dash. The lighting was hitting everything just right, so I snapped some photos and created this painting.
