I think we can all identify when we see a flower growing up through a crack in the pavement - Such Persistence it must have to grow - or just the right conditions I guess. That was the inspiration for this piece. Using my photo as reference, I toned the 400 grit UArt paper using watercolor wash of orange/pink. Once dry to the touch I used various hard and soft pastels.
