Japanese Gardens in Bloom

The light filtering through this Japanese Gardens pagoda entrance lit the freshly blooming cherry blossoms and walkway so perfectly one cold spring morning that I had to paint it. The Cherry tree’s lovely pink flowers, often a symbol of transience, were a wonder to see. Meanwhile, the light inspired my oil painting the most as it seemed to lead you through the walkway directly under its blooms.
