A very foggy morning greeted any who might walk this path to the lighthouse - but no one was there while I painted at 8 a.m. on the winter solstice. The blue/grey light created by the fog layers with tints of lavender set the stage for a small amount of filtered sunlight bathing the foreground, giving the lighthouse a chance to be barely visible on the distant bluff - the stuff that inspires me to paint in the islands.
