59 Cadillac El Dorado

I enjoy capturing reflections, details of chrome and various hard-edged linear designs, then producing a detailed colored pencil art piece from my photo reference. I am especially drawn to the classic-era cars, motorcycles, machinery, and old architecture. In cars, it’s those fabulous designs of the 50’s and 60’s. The fins, bumpers, headlights, taillights, ornate dashboards, big steering wheels, and the emblems for each manufacturer of the era.

This 59 Cadillac El Dorado had everything I love in one package. Seeing all of the craftsmanship, sharp fins, big bumpers, and all of that chrome, I just had to draw it.
