Anne Princess Royal Honors Queen Elizabeth II
This portrait was not what I meant to paint this first day, yet I was so moved whe I saw Anne Princess Royal, during the Prince's Vigil which was playing in the room, that i wiped my canvas clean and began painting her.
I had been making an apron for a painting event, and had taken a break to paint something that might honor a queen that had served her country for so long, because I got an invitation to paint from some group in Canada, which I think went out to everyone. As I was 3 days from leaving for a South Texas Event, I painted fast, and had a decent study after three days with enough info to put most of it to completion, yet because I wanted to show it, I submitted the actual 3 day study to the company that contacted me from Canada. i have no idea if they allowed it to be seen. The day I got back into town, I painted the rest of it, missing the real Canada Show, for a final painting and only showing a study was a bit sad, yet I tried to relace the study with the finished painting anyway.
However, I did send a picture of it overseas, to the new king, which was super pleasing to do.
I think she honored her mother first and her queen second, since she was born to a princess and not a queen. Her face was absolutely beautiful and holding back emotion. I wondered if that is how God sees us when we mourn.
